at Wells Fargo. All of you all out there now gunning for great jobs. Nothing wrong with that. Just remember to save some of that money so that when you’re done working, you can spend it on yourself and your family and friends and enjoy your well earned reward and please do not neglect your health while you are at that job.

it wouldn’t hurt to be the kind of worker that people would say well I haven’t seen you all day and come by and check on you.

Good God! It is highly possible that that person who was so quiet at her desk could’ve been saved. Had someone thought to check on her before she completely expired into oblivion.

It’s OK to have periods of concentration and hyperfocus when you want to get things done. It’s OK not to spend too much time schmoozing with coworkers, because believe me, they are not necessarily your friends. But at least check in with the outside world. At least make sure that it is reasonable for people to check on you at least once a day! No job is that important!

Whatever you do, do not drown in despair at your desk. Get up and practice some self-care, put in your earbuds or put on your headphones and listen to some fun music, like Prince singing raspberry beret, or Dusty Springfield singing son of a preacher man or…
