Tutoring can be a fun side gig, earns about $40 per hour.

I lost my job at the start of the pandemic. Unable to find another job, I launched into tutoring the subjects I found to be most in demand.

My tutoring experience has been a fulfilling one so far. As a tutor, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds, each with their own unique set of strengths and weaknesses. However, the most popular subjects I am asked to teach are Python, Tableau, and SQL. These are all powerful tools that are in high demand in the technology industry, and I am proud to be able to help students learn how to use them effectively.

When it comes to working with students, I have found that there is a wide range of preparedness. Some students come to me already well-versed in the subject matter, while others are completely flummoxed. Despite this, I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to help all students make progress and achieve their goals. I have found that the key to success is tailoring my teaching approach to the individual student’s needs. This means that I am constantly adjusting my teaching style and methods to best suit each student.

One of the things that I find most rewarding about my tutoring experience is working with young women and minority students. In my years in the tech industry, I have seen that these groups are often underrepresented, and I am passionate about doing my part to help change that. I believe that by providing support and guidance to these students, I am helping to pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive technology industry.

I am also proud of being able to help students achieve their goals and pursue careers in the technology field. I have seen firsthand how these skills can open up a wide range of opportunities and I am thrilled to be able to play a role in helping students achieve their dreams.

There are a few downsides, like needing to talk loudly for a whole hour on zoom. I can’t keep that up all day long! But a couple hours in the evening is fine.

Yet another downside is having to market my services constantly. I hate that part.
