SSRS, is it still good for getting a job?
Hi Sharon,
I am reaching out to see if you are in the market and have any interest in an SSRS Report Writer role.
Sending Your resume to a recruiter, and vowing to be happy whatever happens
Recently I got the above message in my LinkedIn. Before I had tasted the bitter taste of constant rejection, those words would fill me with so much hope. Maybe I finally was going to get a big tech job in the private sector!
It never happened. Ultimately, I went to work in government and had some of the best experiences of my lifetime. So, I don’t want anyone to think it’s not worth it getting a degree in IT. If that’s what you really want. It is worth doing a history minor if you just love it, too.
But just know that for women and people of color it can still be tough, and you must look for the little cracks where you can ease your way in. Don’t go to the big, huge most popular cities. But look for secondary cities where your talents can shine above and beyond the rest. Everybody’s gonna head for LA, Frisco and New York and try to push in. but, you head for Columbus, Cleveland, Baltimore and other smaller cities.
