As an avid observer of current events, I have to admit that the recent incident involving a healthcare CEO and a young Ivy League graduate has left me with a range of complex emotions. On the one hand, I was shocked and appalled by the violent act that unfolded. But on the other, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of dark humor when a comedian remarked that he was “relieved” to see a “lily white hand” aiming the gun.
His relief at seeing that “lily-white hand” was darkly comical, highlighting the racial biases that often taint our reaction to news events.
