Making Bank (Or Not) With Virtual Assistants: My Messy Journey Into Affiliate Marketing

Let’s talk about virtual assistants and affiliate marketing — a combination that’s supposed to be like peanut butter and jelly, but in my experience has been more like pickles and ice cream. Yeah, that weird.

I’ve been down this road before. Multiple times, actually. Each time I convinced myself, “This is it! I’ll hire a VA, and the money will start rolling in!” Spoiler alert: It didn’t.

Here’s what typically happened:

Day 1: Hire enthusiastic VA from somewhere across the globe. Feel like a proper digital entrepreneur.
Day 7: Wonder why my perfectly detailed “instructions” (read: chaotic brain dumps) aren’t translating into viral content.
Day 30: Realize I’m paying someone to basically exist in my Slack channel.

The Truth Bombs:

1. A VA isn’t a magical money-making unicorn. They’re human beings who need actual direction. (Who knew?)

2. Having someone to post affiliate links randomly across the internet is about as effective as throwing spaghetti at a wall while blindfolded. Trust me, I’ve tried both.
