AI with Tableau analytics, not very helpful at times.
So yesterday, I was trying to learn all about heat maps in Tableau before a student showed up. They were coming as a couple, husband and wife. They ended up being very funny, with the side arguments, but that’s irrelevant right now. They wanted to know more about heat Maps, and I wanted to be there for them with instant answers so they wouldn’t think it was better to go to Chadita (that’s what I call ChatGPT)
But I was infuriated by the vague and stupid answers given by one of the artificial intelligence robots, Microsoft Copilot.
You see, I couldn’t locate the slider on the Marks card. And the stupid AI kept saying oh, just look for it. It’s right there on the worksheet.
It had me feeling just like Tommy did when Billy Batts pissed him off after getting out of prison by saying, “Go home and get your shine box, Tommy.”
When you get out of prison after a long stretch, you gotta read the room before you restart with the guys. Things may have changed.
I know I’ve seen the slider. But it’s not apparent how to find it when you last used it long ago. I don’t generally use it because most of my students are not very interested in making extensive changes to their visualizations, not changes beyond adding a little color. They would love to have those…
